The charming small town of Beaminster is 15 minutes away by car. There are many beautiful and varied walks throughout the area and several from the house itself. The coast, with beaches and coastal walks, is 10-12 miles distant. There are plenty of local golf courses to choose from and many beautiful houses and gardens open to the public are within easy reach - Mapperton, Montacute, Forde Abbey, Athelhampton, Sherborne Abbey to name but a few.
Also nearby are Maiden castle (below), Bovington Tank Museum, The Naval Air Museum at Yeovilton, Lulworth Cove and the South west coastal path.
